SKETCHBOOK LOOKS FEATURE ALONGSIDE A JUXTAPOSITION OF HARD EDGED ARCHITECTURE AND THE SOFTNESS OF TROPICAL PALMS IN SCION’S NEW ZANZIBAR COLLECTION

THE SOFTNESS OF TROPICAL PALMS | Malcolm Fabrics NZ

In a move towards a more simplistic, relaxed interior, Scion Zanzibar features abstract design and statement motifs across a range of nine wallpapers, eight prints, five weaves, two embroideries and a velvet. Built around gestural organic forms, Scion Zanzibar has a beautiful expressionist feel, with digitally printed inky designs bringing an easy-living vibe to the range.

Inspired by the Barbican Conservatory and surrounding brutalist architecture, Zanzibar pairs tropical palms with casual linework, hard edged geometrics and energetic prints to create a collection of juxtapositions.

Hannah Bowen, Head of Design at Scion says, “Zanzibar sees the introduction of a sophisticated colour palette and delicate metallic highlights. Artwork has been spaced to provide a contemporary feel, creating a clean, fresh look. Even though Zanzibar is more of a ‘grown up’ collection, Scion wouldn’t be Scion without a cheeky character, so keep an eye out for our sassy flamingo amongst our wallpapers and prints.”

A light and refreshing pastel palette with colours such as Blush, Raffia and Glacier featuring throughout, with punchy, expressive highlights like the aptly named Citrus, Paprika and Gecko providing tonal variance across the range.
