At Malcolm Fabrics we believe colour should be cel At Malcolm Fabrics we believe colour should be celebrated, not feared!

The beautiful British and European design houses that we are so proud to represent, are all masters of colour.

During the release our their ‘Colour’ series, Harlequin unpacked the theory behind colour psychology and the positive effects of living with colour.

Interestingly, they highlighted the importance of considering the brightness of a colour, not just the hue. By selecting colours based on whether they are ‘light’ or ‘dark’, you can design based on the atmosphere you wish to create.

“More often than not, when we talk about colour theory in the home, we’re given broad ideas about what individual colours represent... Studies show that lighter colours create a sense of calm, while darker, stronger colours bring energy and excitement to a space.” - Harlequin
